Associate, CIO Office
Coller Capital is a specialist investor in the secondary private capital market with $35bn AUM across different fund strategies, including both Private Equity and Private Credit, through closed-end and open-ended funds.
The CIO Office is responsible for overseeing the firm’s investment processes, fund strategies, portfolio construction, and post-investment monitoring. The successful applicant will join this team and have responsibilities across all of these areas.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
INVESTMENT PROCESS
- Assist in oversight of investment analysis and review processes to ensure consistency and appropriate risk evaluation, mitigation, and governance
- Maintain and update investment committee memos and analysis templates
- Ad hoc projects focused on improvement of analytical processes
- Support in management of investment committee and decision-making process
FUND STRATEGY AND PORTFOLIO CONSTRUCTION
- Support CIO Office on fund strategies, working with relevant stakeholders to optimise portfolio construction and ensure consistent investment returns
- Prepare materials for investment committee to determine strategic priorities of each fund during its investment period and set the risk-return framework
- Thematic studies based on market developments; periodic review of structural and macro-trends
POST-INVESTMENT MONITORING
- Support regular review of current and projected performance at investment and fund level; participate in preparation of regular expected returns process
- Collaborate with Data Science team to improve oversight and understanding of our portfolio; develop and incorporate enhanced investment and portfolio risk modelling tools
- Develop lessons learned analysis to create a feedback loop into analytical framework and fund strategy
- Prepare responses for investor relations and fundraising queries
Qualification and Experience:
ESSENTIAL
- Asset Management background OR Qualified Accountant, 1-2yr PQE (ideally with Transaction Services or Modelling experience)
- Very strong analytical abilities and advanced financial and business modelling skills
- High level of attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
DESIRABLE
- Knowledge of the Private Capital and/or Secondaries markets
- No prior Private Capital experience required
