Market Research Associate
Role overview
We are seeking a proactive, results oriented Research Associate to join our Market Intelligence team. You will play a key role in supporting the organisation through comprehensive market research and due diligence support. You will work closely with the Investor Relations, Marketing and Strategy teams to support the firm’s fundraising, due diligence and investor servicing efforts. Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to the broader marketing content development requirements and collaborate with the strategy team on wider strategic initiatives.
This is an exciting and impactful role which requires strong analytical skills and financial acumen, as well as interpersonal skills and the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the firm.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct thorough research and in-depth analysis on the private equity secondaries market, using internal and external resources to deliver actionable insights on market trends and themes and the competitive landscape to support the Investor Relations, Strategy, Marketing, and Investment teams
- Perform benchmarking analysis to support internal and external peer analysis efforts and gather competitors’ intelligence data on fundraising, investment activities, performance, product development
- Contribute to Coller Capital’s thought leadership publications – Barometer, White Papers
- Create content for external use at industry events, aimed at benefiting and engaging the wider investor and market participants community
- Maintain and update data in relevant internal databases, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of information
- Manage multiple research projects and deliver results in a timely manner
- Manage third party market data sources on behalf of the firm
- Other responsibilities as required
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics or a related field
- A strong background in financial markets and understanding of investment principles
- Advanced MS Office proficiency (Excel in particular)
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and provide clear insights
- Strong time and project management skills
- Attention to detail and accuracy across all deliverables
- Ability to work well independently and as a part of a team
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proactive mindset with a strong desire for continuous learning and the ability to bring new ideas for content and strategic insights
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in private equity, banking, or a related financial field
- Familiarity with financial databases such as Preqin, PitchBook, Bloomberg, Capital IQ
