We are looking for an Associate to support our investment team in Hong Kong across the full deal cycle through research, analysis, financial modelling, and coordination of internal and external workstreams.
KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ANALYSIS
Support the evaluation of potential transactions by conducting sector and company research.
Assist in quantitative and qualitative analysis of portfolio companies and funds.
Contribute to due diligence activities and help manage documentation and data requests.
Build and maintain financial models under the guidance of senior team members, including valuation analysis, fund analysis, and transaction structure modelling.
Prepare draft materials for Investment Committee and internal meetings.
Liaise with external advisers and consultants on specific research or analytical tasks as directed.
STRUCTURING & EXECUTION
Assist in preparing and updating models for various deal structures.
Help coordinate deal execution processes, including tracking legal workstreams and collecting required documentation.
Support the closing process, working with the internal legal team, fund administrators, and external parties.
POST‑INVESTMENT MONITORING
Update portfolio monitoring materials, including performance metrics and commentary.
Assist in preparing returns forecasts and internal reporting packs.
Help respond to routine portfolio-related queries.
DEAL SOURCING, MARKETING & FUNDRAISING
Conduct desk research to support deal sourcing initiatives, marketing efforts, and fundraising activities.
Help prepare marketing materials and support relationship management efforts with GPs, investors, consultants, and advisers.
Participate in team-based outreach activities, including warm/hot and occasional cold calling.
OTHER
Participate in select industry events, meetings, and AGMs as required.
Occasional travel may be involved.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
ESSENTIAL
Relevant experience from:
private equity
funds of funds
pension fund
family office
M&A / corporate finance
leveraged finance
investment consulting (finance‑focused)
LP/investor roles
Completion of analyst training or equivalent, with foundational transaction exposure.
Strong analytical abilities and solid financial modelling skills.
Fluent in written and spoken English.
Fluency in Korean, Japanese, or another Southeast Asian language preferred.
MBA is not required, but may be beneficial.
