Fundraising Manager, Senior Associate - German Speaker
The Role
The Investor Relations (“IR”) department manages and coordinates various interactions with our global investor base and potential investors. The IR group at Coller Capital is an integrated function to support current investors and to raise capital from new investors. Based in London, this individual will work as part of the London-based IR team. This individual will work to identify prospects and initiate and broaden the firm’s relationships with investors predominantly in German speaking Europe.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Key focus on supporting the fundraising efforts of Coller Capital’s various secondary products.
- Identifying potential investors, initiating contact and organizing and attending fundraising meetings.
- Work with internal and external counterparts to close sales. Build and maintain credible relationships with prospects, clients and industry participants.
- Develop and maintain a working knowledge of the industry.
- Create and manage a sales pipeline.
- Analyse sales territory and contribute to business plan.
Support Relationship Management program for German speaking Europe, including:
- Maintaining timely and relevant contact with existing Limited Partners through use of regular update meetings, communication and events.
- In conjunction with the London team, work to broaden our universe of prospective LPs in the region, including consultants and other LP advisers. Monitor which potential LPs are active and commence dialogue, with the ultimate objective of closing capital commitments to Coller funds.
- Focusing on planning strategy for, execution of and contribution at investor meetings – this includes leveraging broader team’s capabilities, ensuring consistency of message and optimal use of resources
- Attendance and networking at key industry conferences, seminars and trade shows.
Candidate Profile
Competencies, behaviors and qualifications include:
- Experience in Investor Relations or Investments within private markets, preferably including origination
- Bachelors degree or higher from top university or equivalent
- Evidence of ability to build and maintain network of institutional investors/consultants and develop deep relationships in order to convert sales
- Fluent/native German speaker
- Confidence and presence among key stakeholders
- Highly attuned interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong and meaningful relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self-starter and ability to be innovative in one’s thinking to generate ideas
- Strong financial and investment acumen
- Organized, efficient and able to take responsibility for tasks to completion
- Demonstrates good judgement, common sense and problem-solving skills
- Operate with the highest integrity and ethical standards
- A high degree of comfort working in an entrepreneurial culture with a non-hierarchical, “all hands on deck” mindset
- Willingness to travel extensively, as required
